If you want to use WContainerWidget, you can add layout manager to basic WContainerWidget and change layout items from derived class http://www.webtoolkit.eu/wt/doc/reference/html/classWt_1_1WLayout.html If you need not layout, you can try to compose your base class (inherited from WContainerWidget) from child WContainerWidget's and change content of these child WContainerWidget's from derived class. In this case child WContainerWidget's (and other widgets) are placed one under the other.
