Hello Olaf,

We avoid changing the signature and semantics of doxygen documented
API functions, and will surely document in release notes when this
happens. All other functions are internal API, and may be changed in
incompatible ways without notification.

That being said, if you find such an undocumented function
particularly useful, we should consider them for inclusion in the API.
So what functions are you referring to?
