Hey! IRC channel ##wt@freenode was created about a year ago. It is empty most of the time. I think developers of Wt could use IRC channel to be interact more closely with those who is using Wt. Mail list and issue tracker does not give the impression of live communication as IRC does. Many changes happened in Wt, some of them could be discussed via IRC before being implemented. It is considered a good practice for open source project to have active IRC channel.
