Thanks to all who have assisted in resolving this!
After grabbing the patch to resolve setSslVerifyPath, and lots of
investigation of OpenSSL, I got the connection made.
I guess the primary lesson learned for those interested is that on Windows,
verify path must be set to OpenSSL\bin\PEM and the hash files for certs and
the CA chain must be in that directory. The location is not discretionary
(you can't just make a directory and decide that's where you want to
organize your ssl stuff). Not sure that that's the way Darrell is
configured, but that's what worked for me.
Thanks again for the patience and the assistance. This would have been
easier to figure out if the OpenSSL community was as helpful as the Witty
group!
