Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: tallow Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: david (dextersinister) Assigned to: Derek (derekc) Summary: New tool / feature to process .SLN files Initial Comment: A utility which would read an existing Visual Studio solution file [*.sln] and create from it a skeleton .wxs file to be used as the basis for building an installer for that solution. This would be an excellent aid for converting existing software projects in to WiX projects ... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: david (dextersinister) Date: 2006-03-21 20:14 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1376583 Hmmmmmmmmm ... I think I was thinking more about capturing the built binaries ... but also grabbing [at least a list of] dependencies so that the setup requirements would be closer to 'self-documenting' ... As I think about it more, it is a tallow-like feature ... with the added function of being able to semi-automagically update the installation package as the application changes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Derek (derekc) Date: 2006-03-21 18:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=518766 Sounds like a great tallow feature. I need some help understanding what the goal here is though: do you want to create a setup of the source files referenced by the .sln file or are you more interested in capturing the built binary files? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=642717&aid=1353234&group_id=105970 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
