Does "tallow -x test.dll" actually refer to "tallow -s test.dll"? I'm not aware of a -x switch. 2. Do the problems with non-ASCII characters seem to be related to the fact that tallow sends its output to the command line? Could you please try running "heat file test.dll -out test.wxs" (heat is a new tool in wix 3.0)? Please note that heat along with WiX 3.0 is currently highly experimental and thus not suitable for usage in a production environment. However, going forward, heat will replace tallow, so I'd like to ensure that issues like this are resolved in that tool.
