I investigated this some more and realized this.

Our previous installshield installer does this during bootstrapping, not in the msi.

Coming to my original question, I don’t have many launch conditions.

I want to verify, Operating system/Service Pack version, Pre-requisite

vendor package installations, services like MSMQ/IIS/ASP services installed.

I am looking for a nice way to present the launchconditions to user.

I have launchconditions after PrepareDlg in InstallUISequence.

They are now throwing a message dialog after the preparedlg,

when the expected components are not present.

Any ideas or best practices on this,  let me know.

Thanks

Chandra

Why do you need a progress bar during launch conditions?  Do you really have that many conditions?  AFAIK, the Windows Installer doesn't support progress bars at this in the sequence time so it'd have to be an external UI handler... and that's going to take a fair bit of work to get done.

Is there any effort from wix team to bring progressbar while evaluating launch conditions?

InstallShield has this thru bootstrapper I think.

Now, I am doing launch conditions as per samples and pop a message on failure cases,

but it will be nice to have UI with progressbar for this.

I can contribute with UI pieces if someone can educate me on hooking up launchconditions

to ActionText and ActionData.
