Subject: [WiX-devs] Getting an error when compiling wxs file having $(env.WIX)
in accessing the path.

Hi All,

I have a simple wxs file (attached the code below) it contains the $(env.WIX)
value to assign the path for a specific file to get installed on the installing
machines as part of our MSI file. When I compiled this code using CANDLE
command it is giving me the following error:

C:\....\product.wxs(12) : fatal
error CNDL0023: Undefined environment variable: $(env.WIX).

Please let me know how to fix this error...

Source Code Sample:

<Directory Id= 'TestFileProductDirectory' Name= 'TestFile' LongName=' Test
File'>
         <Component Id='TestFileProductComponent'
Guid='00030829-0000-0000-C000-000000000046' DiskId='1'>
                 < File Id=' TestFileProductFile' Name=' test.txt'
src='$(env.WIX)\data\test.txt '/>
        </Component>
</ Directory>
