Category: None Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Private: Yes Submitted By: jordanf (jrfitzgi) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Warn user when patch contains changed non-keypath file Initial Comment: If a patch updates a component that has a key path file as well as a non-key path file then per Windows Installer rules the component will be patched only if the key path file has changed. To prevent having to end up in a situation where a user might incorrectly update a non-key path file but not its associated key path file, WiX (Pyro) should issue a warning to the user telling them that even though the non-key path file and the component is part of the patch the file will not get replaced because the key path resource has not changed. Can there be a warning about this? Eg. "Component A's non-key path file has changed and was included in the patch but its associated key path file remained unchanged." ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=642717&aid=1732427&group_id=105970 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
