1. If you build WiX once, you should be able to build projects normally.
I'm curious what specific issues you are hitting.

BTW, I should have remembered this previously.  The burn.sln should work
just fine in VS. I knew there was one project in the WiX toolset build that
worked in VS... it's Burn because that was the last project added when the
new build system was mostly planned.

2. I'm working through a couple VS2012 build failures in wix38 last
night. Found some changes in wix40 that are not back ported, yet. (I did
things backwards and have to retrace my steps quite a bit) <sigh/>
