Thanks. I will look at that. At home on my 'new' Win 7 x86 box, I have been working for almost three weeks to get Wix 3.8 to build on VS2013. I tracked down and resolved a number of lot of issues. Some relate to PC configuration and others required changes to targets and .props files. However I still do not have a clean build. But it now builds many of the projects before it hits errors. The latest problem relates to not finding dutil.lib, causing several projects to fail. It seems that VS2010 must be installed, which I have been resisting. I finally install VS2010 Express so that I could install the SQL CE 4.0 SDK. But I don't think the typical user would expect to have to install VS2010 if they already own VS2013.
At work on my Win 7 x64 dev1 system I have had Wix 3.8 building for some time, but initially it was a real struggle to get a clean build. However I did not keep good notes on the issues I had and how I resolved them. Also at work, on my Windows 8 x64 test box I have not succeed in getting Wix 3.8 to build using VS2010 Ultimate SP1. It can't find the HTML Help Workshop, even though ARP says that it is installed (by VS2010 Ultimate SP1) and it won't let me run a seperate HTML Help setup. I am working on this issue today as I need to resolve this issue to track down the strutl.cpp Assert which my MBA is throwing.
