1. Let's just fix the root issue rather than try to add rewrite rules for
it. We've lived with the issue this long, we can just go after the root issue.

2. I'm pretty sure you're right. Somewhere in the documentation the "~"
is not correctly being removed from the pages that end up on the website. It
needs to be there to correctly be replaced in the .chm build but needs to be
removed from the website... I think. Or maybe it needs to be replaced
correctly on the website which means changes only on the wixweb branch. Either
way... somewhere in there is the bug and it sounds like you're pointing in the
right direction. <smile/>

I'ld would like to help in fixing the wix v3 manual as published on
wixtoolset.org<http://wixtoolset.org>.
So far I've seen the following errors:
tilde ~ in the urls
backslashes in urls (mainly in the indexes and xsd generated files)
images not available (for example in
http://wixtoolset.org/documentation/manual/v3/overview/tools.html)
For the tilde a stopgap solution might be to add an iis rewrite rule, for the
backslashes I think docgenfromxsd and mdcompiler need to be fixed, and I think
the images need some fix in the deployment or copy process from wix38 to wixweb.
But first things first: How do I sign up?
