I've not contributed source to WiX (yet), but if I get a vote at all,
moving forward with it now seems to make sense from what I have read from
all of you.

In the end, there will be a lot of advantages to moving to GitHub, some
that you've already mentioned. From experience, they have a great set of
solutions that help with most aspects of the development cycle (Issues,
Wiki, GitHub pages, organizations, etc.).
