At first glimpse you are not using a !(bindpath....) value
(!bindpath.Version) instead of $(var.Version) would be a nice easy way to
get started.

#1 tripping point that gets everyone when trying to use pure wix patching.
It *ONLY* works when a bindpath is involved.
