We have a bindpath in our product called ROOT (ambiguous, I know). We use this for all elements that reference files on disk when building an MSI (Custom actions, icons, etc.). For MSI generation this bindpath works like a charm however when building our pure-wix patches the pyro step fails attempting to find these files destined for the Binary table in the location set in the RTM's build path.
I would think that this is a bug in light since melt doesn't output entries from the Binary table to disk but I've been wrong before. I will try and create a reproducible test bed and reproduce the issue. Does anyone have any memory of this from the past? Thanks, Stephen Tunney
