Honestly, the way the numbers are going… I don’t know when we drop support for
XP SP3. <sigh/>

Subject: [WiX-devs] 4632 - Use ETW for logging and additional tracing

I was reading through the issue here<http://wixtoolset.org/issues/4632/> and
the WIP<http://wixtoolset.org/development/wips/4632-use-etw-for-logging/> and
it sounds like the goal is to use
EventWrite<https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/windows/desktop/aa363752.aspx> as
the foundation for logging in 4.x. As noted in the WIP, EventWrite was
introduced in Vista/2008.

Are we planning on dropping support for XP in 4.x? Does that mean we should
bump up to .NET 4.5?

If we're still releasing v4.0 in the next few months, I don't think XP has been
end of lifed for long enough to do that.
