I found this bug while fixing bug 4646 in wix 4:

Before that fix, trying to share out the root of the drive caused this to
be written to the log:
CreateSmb: Error 0x80004005: Failed to create/modify file share: Err: 123
CreateSmb: Error 0x80004005: failed to create share: '%ls'
CreateSmb: Error 0x80070057: failed to set hresult code into error message
The "failed to create share: '%ls'" comes from line 1345 in scaexec.cpp.
