Well I am not using .NET.  I've got a VB6 COM+ App, and I am going through
some of the same things.

Thanks to a comment on this thread, about using .NET and setting the
register to vsdrfCOM, I was able to generate a list of registry keys for my
server in about 45 seconds, and that includes reading the documentation for
dark, botching the command line once, and changing the configuration once
too.

I have yet to test the install/uninstall cycle, but my gut tells me it will
be cleaner.  Have you tried uninstalling a component that uses self
register?  Good luck.

Next time read the responses, and try them before just telling everyone to
stick it.  And do not complain about not having .NET you can get a
completely FREE version of the IDE that will gen the MSI file you need.
