One thing I would add to Darrel's statement below is that WiX v3 is still under development. From build to build, you may run into changes in the schema that break you. Peter Marcu is looking at better ways to organize the Media elements (because it is pretty annoying to create multi-Media installs right now with WiX). It is possible that he'll end up with a breaking change there. Of course, we try to always keep WixCop up to date so the migration from one build to another is easy.
