Hi,
I need to read the configuration information from input xml config file and
display it to the user. Then user can modify the values and those values
will be updated to web.config after users modification. I have written the
custom action in VBScript to read the input xml config file (/using
msxml2.DOMDocument).
Problem is WIX expects the input xml path to be physical path(I mean it
reads the default path as \System32 folder). Meaning I will have to ship the
input xml config file separatly with the MSI. I would like to know how do i
embed this input xml file in the MSI, so that i can read this file using
VBScript.
I think is it possible to extract that file from MSI database and copy to
the temporary location before reading the file.
