Mano,
You can make a component for that file and mark it as permanent. Second option
is custom action on uninstall, scheduled before RemoveFiles action which will
make a copy of this file somewhere.

I want to preserve a file post-uninstall. I do not find any attribute to do
that. I can take the file out of my MSI and copy it manually, but it will be
nice if I have a way to do it through my MSI itself.
