Hi Folks,

After installing, associated Icons are not showing up for our shortcuts
added to our program's entry on the Start menu, instead I see the
default 'no association' icon.

Reading some previous messages I see there is no way to specify an icon
for the InternetShortcut and that it should display the icon associated
with the shortcut's URL protocol, in this case http.

The http protocol is associated with FireFox, and if I drag a URL (for a
site that doesn't have a FavIcon) from either the FireFox or Internet
Explorer Address bars to the desktop it picks up the expected icon.

The other shortcut is to a CHM file from within a component, since the
shortcut needed to be installed to All Users I followed some more advice
I found searching the archives and set the shortcuts Advertise attribute
to "yes". I suppose it's possible the indirection from the advertised
shortcut through MSI hides the target filetype and its icon association,
after using the shortcut the next time the start menu entry is display
the CHM icon is present, is there anyway to make that happen without
requiring the shortcuts be clicked by the user first.

For the InternetShortcut clicking the shortcut does not have this
effect, the icon remains incorrect.

It's worth noting I also see this happening with the Wix installation
advertised shortcuts.

Does anyone know away around this? For the advertised shortcut I guess I
could include the CHM icon in the MSI, but I'm out of ideas for the
InternetShortcut.

Thanks,
Paul
