Hello WiX community, I came to a conclusion that it's impossible to set script maps to a virtual directory WITHOUT creating web application. The WebApplicationExtension can only be a child of WebApplication. Also, there's no workaround similar to what we have in IIS Manager console - create Virtual Directory (web app is there by default), set script maps, Remove web app.
It seems the only way to go here is using script tools like adsutil.vbs, which is not the best practice, as far as I know. Does anyone know another safer way?
