Not that this is much help but this has been reported several times on this list and to my knowledge no one has found a reason - it even happens with the Wix3.msi. I have trawled through the logs and not found anything relevant that I can post as a problem. In my experience it happens about 1 in 15 times I run the msi and invariably when I haven't enabled logs!
