When you build your 1.0.3 patch have you defined target images for both the 1.0.0 & 1.0.2 version under the 1.0.3 Upgrade Element in the Family Group or just one of them? If you put both in you should be able to create a 1.0.3 patch which updates either 1.0.0 or 1.0.2 versions to 1.0.3 & thus skip the 1.0.2 patch entirely if you or your users so wish.
If you still have issues can you paste your PatchCreation XML so we can see where you could be going wrong?
