What happens when I have the SQL Server 2008 Express R2 bootstrapped, and the target machine already has the SQL Server 2008 Enterprise or SQL Server 2005 Enterprise/Express installed? I am asking because I can't find in the bootstrapping section of the wixproj file any means to do a conditional installation and I don't have all the resources to do the tests. Any version of SQL Server would actually work for our app so we want the setup file to check for that (and not a specific version of it). I'm looking at the package.xml file under the Bootstrapper directory of SqlExpress and it has the InstallChecks/ExternalCheck element which is a bit suggestive but I'm not even sure if I'm looking at the right place or if what I want to achieve is doable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable.
