One caveat if you follow Neil's advice. WixExitEarlyWithSuccess doesn't work completely seamlessly with MajorUpgrade. See http://sourceforge.net/p/wix/feature-requests/626/ The workaround is to schedule the CA yourself with this condition in the install sequences:
