You can use a 4 field version for a product. Windows stores but ignores the
final field.

I'm using the approach of defining a variable for the product version which
is bound from one of the assemblies.
<?define VERSION=!(bind.FileVersion.$(var.MAINEXE))?>

This ends up as a number like "1.0.0.0" - how can I strip this down to
"1.0.0"?
