My patches are whole file patches. There is no UI either in the patches either.
I'll have to check out the hash table and see what files may mismatch. It never mentions anything about the file it's trying to access, it just keeps mentioning the product it looking for. About every 45 seconds the time out happens and starts the query again. It just goes on and on and on until it decides to apply the patch. There are uninstallable patches as well. I would assume a compressed and uncompressed would behave the same. I get why an uncompressed install might be different in that the files get unpacked in a temp directory for install which the uninstall doesn't need to do. The non stop attempt to access source is what bugs me. If you install from an administrative installation which is uncompressed and then apply my patch 1 and patch 2, I don't get this issue. I now the MSI is marked as administrative installation and it has a reference to the external cab file, but what would make them behave different?
