Hey Bob, thanks a lot for responding to that old post. I finally understood what you were saying and got it working. I was tripping over an impression I had inferred from other threads to the effect that the msi file name could not/should not be changed after it was signed. I was also getting compile errors when I tried to author the same cab file as a payload of several MsiPackage elements. But eventually I remembered seeing the comment in the source code that then binder 'finds' related cab files and when I scrapped the payload and changed the MsiPackage/@Name for each package to point at the same folder, it all works. Prior to that I also discovered that Media/@Layout was the wrong rabbit trail and used MediaTemplate letting it build the external cab in each localized folder. Thanks alot. Phill
