As we migrate to bigger screens, I've been wondering if transient windows (alert dialogs) should be mapped close to the cursor location.

Scenarios:

I'm working in an app at bottom right corner of a 1920x1200 display. The app causes a transient to be displayed, and WM maps it right in the middle of the screen. (e.g. "Are you sure you want to delete?") Now I've got to move the mouse all the way to answer the dialog. This could happen _many_ times during a work session.

I'm changing a workspace name (usually from the Clip, upper left corner). Again, mouse has to travel all the way to middle of screen.

The mouse travel is not so bad on a 1074x768 screen, but it gets a bit much on larger screens.

What do you think about modifying this behavior so transients are mapped near the cursor? For one thing, it would save all that travel. Second, at least for transients caused by mouse actions (as opposed to delayed transients) I imagine that the proximity of the dialog to the current user's point of focus makes it more relevant.
Just like being able to map and unmap the app menus at cursor location.
