Hi, I'm the Arch Linux package maintainer of WindowMaker. I have sent the attached eMail to the developer-mailinglist of Arch Linux to discuss a switch of the official package to the new git repository of Carlos R. Mafra. The last official release of WindowMaker is a little bit old and the mentioned GIT repository looks very promising for bugfixes and new features. I hope we can help you a little bit with this step in testing and reporting bugs to your great work in the GIT repository.
I have to wait for approval from the others developers, but normally that should be no problem. After that, there will be regular snapshots of the GIT repository available as official Arch Linux packages in our [extra]-repository. Nevertheless I use it daily at my main desktop and I'm very happy with it. Sadly there were no release since 4 years! :( At the moment there are some very active developers which forked the actual last CVS snapshot of WindowMaker and doing a lot of work with new features and bugfixes. The mailinglist of WindowMaker is very active with those developers and it looks promising. I have used there GIT snapshot since a few days and it looks very good. I would like to replace our official package with a regular updated GIT snapshot package to give the new developers as much feedback as possible and to give our WindowMaker users a more fresh WindowMaker than the 4 years old one. Any objections in doing this? Cheers, Daniel -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [email protected].
