Hi.

I'm Cyril Lavier, the maintainer of audacious/audacious-plugins in
Debian.

Recently, we switched to the 3.2 release. But some programs stopped
building/working since.

So I have to find ways to make these programs work again.

One of these is wmauda, a dockapp applet for windowmaker which
controls audacious.

I'm searching for helpers because Christian, the developer of this
project (added in CC) doesn't have time to update it.

So if you use windowmaker, audacious, you have free time and if you
have skills in C developing. You can help keeping wmauda up to date
and alive.

In case somebody wants to help Christian, I accept to do the Debian
part of the work, which is maintaining the package and asking for an
upload in Debian Unstable.

Also, there is a risk of Debian removing the package from Debian
Unstable, as wmauda can't build anymore.

Thanks.

Hi Cyril,
Hi Rodolfo.
I am trying to maintain wmauda in debian. I know the problem, the
package is ITA but have problems with some functions removed in the last
version. I contacted with the developer of audacious, the libraries were
removed because are not used. He don't seem to revert the changes.
Actually, I was not aware about the work you are doing for keeping wmauda alive and functionnal.

I opened a bug : http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=657596

Maybe we can use it to coordinate our efforts in resolving the issues appeared with the upgrade of audacious.
I sent an email to the upstream developer of wmauda, but not reply. If
we have no reply is some days, I will upload the package to someplace
(probably our dockapps repo if Carlos don't have problems), and I will
made the changes.
You sent a mail to Christian Birchinger ?
I am not sure about the changes I need to do to solve the problems. I
hadn't time to review the source code of wmauda. Your help is welcome.
I'm trying to find people to help for wmauda because I think it's one of my responsibilities on being the maintainer of audacious/audacious-plugins packages, to help people resolving FTBFS when upgrading a package.

The only help I can give in this case, it's finding a sponsor for the updated package (maybe the sponsor for audacious packages will agree on sponsoring yours), and heavily testing the builds. Because I don't use windowmaker, and the last time I fully wrote a C program was 6 years ago, when I was in college ^^.
Best Regards,
kix
Thanks.
