So you actually burned it to disk? I must admit that i never did that
for testing, as i despise the optical disk handling. I mainly used the
ISO in KVM and for physical machines i used it from a pen drive.

Last time i used it, wdm was remarkably featureless. And as far as i
know, it is not maintained anymore by no one. Does it still compile?

With gdm one gains the fexibility of easily running multiple sessions on
the same machine. Furthermore it very well integrated with the gnome
screensaver, which is also installed as default. With both together, via
an active screensaver instance, any user can with one mouse cick easily
open an additional X session on another virtual console, which is a very
useful facility.

Usually i run a virtual instance of wmlive on another virtual console,
using XDMCP to connect to the virtual machine. With wdm this feature
would be sorely missed, and i really wouldn't want to renounce on this.

Possibly. Maybe abiword, gnumeric, and the gimp? I renounced to use
libreoffice due to its sheer installation size, but the again i found it
a bad idea to not install any basic word processor and spreadsheet, And
no, Emacs will definitely stay!

Just ignore it for the time being. This is no finished product anyway,
but hopefully a good appetizer to get some more people interested in
contributing stuff. In the long run. i probably won't be able to handle
this all alone on my own.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to your suggestions!
