Thanks a lot for this, Iain! In fact, the descibed maximizing/unmaximizing behaviour used to be exactly like this in the original WindowMaker releases before it was forked into the wmaker-crm version. Sometime during the development of wmaker-crm this behaviour was broken, although i am not sure if this was related to the maximus patches or anything else.
It used to be very annoying if a resized window wouldn't return to it's original size, if one didn't take care to first undo a resize operation before applying a second one, because then the original geometry was replaced by the one of the first resize operation or, better said, was stuck with a different window size. For me this usually left no other way than either manually resize a window, in order to actually return to the expected original size, or just close it and start a fresh new instance. Your patch finally solved this issue, as it finally removes a major annoyance for me! Thanks!
