this is just a status info about my attempt to run WMaker on Solaris.
I'm using Solaris 11 for my work, so I tried to compile it there.
Except for Debian patches, there was only one thing to solve - Solaris
Xinerama branch. It seems that some older Solaris used its own xinerama
extension. On Solaris 11, this is not needed anymore as Solaris switched
to XOrg implementation. However, the Solaris specific extension is still
present.
After that, Window Maker runs just fine without any glitches.
I plan to compile Window Maker also on Solaris 10 to see whether the
Xinerama branch is needed there. If not, I'll send a patch to remove it.
If yes, I'll try to come up with better detection method.
