See my other post to this thread. It's to do with the work I did on making the panel redraws more efficient by storing the array of state flags.

When working on that I looked at the code and considered cases where the panel might end up being NULL or not having the arrays correctly initialised. My conclusion was that wouldn't be the case because wInitSwitchPanel() frees the panel and returns NULL when there are no windows, hence if there are windows there must be icons and images too. What I missed was the check for the swtileImage preference inbetween code which creates the panel and that which populates the icons.
