I would like to add my wishlist for the future of WindowMaker.

What I would like to see:
1.) Enable Drag and Drop by default, I managed to get it working and have had no issues with it. 2.) Enhance the UserMenu capabilities (these are the menus that come up when you open a particular application. It would be nice to add a panel to configure them and enable/disable them on a per-application basis. Expanding them as talked about in the source code would be nice also. I don't even know if this is possible, but it would be nice if Wmaker could hide the normal menu on applications (it should be possible on GTK+ apps).
3.) Make it possible to paste text in WMaker dialogs.
4.) Create WMaker style dialogs sort of like Zenity.
5.) Threaten, bribe, beg, pray whatever to get OpenOffice and the other ill behaved apps out there to fix THIER WM_CLASS issues. 6.) Work with WDM to get it updated and integrate configuration into WMaker Preferences. 7.) Make WMaker Preferences extendable or at least a panel with icons to external configuration dialogs.

What I would NOT like to see:
1.) An OSX style dock
2.) A cartoon foot
3.) A cartoon gear
4.) Another cartoon foot called a cashew (I really hate feet on my computer screen!) 5.) Windowmaker become a clone of Microsoft's or Apple's latest "usability enhancement" which consistently means removing capabilites and control to make it easier for the help-desk (like KDE4)

I am really glad to see some effort going into Window Maker, I have used it on and off for many years and always come back to it.
