I attempted to disable the bouncing icons by this method suggested to me.
You can disable the bouncing icons with the WPrefs.app utility which is
located in the Preferences root menu. Choose the expert tab icon which
is the last one on the far right, and scroll down to the end of the
list. There you will find an entry to toggle and disable the bouncing
app icons ("Do not make AppIcons bounce.").
Interestingly, I disabled the bouncing icons this way and they still
bounce even after a reboot (though the checkmarks were still unchecked).
However I was able to stop the little suckers by disabling animation on
the "Other configurations" menu. It seems to me disabling the bouncing
icons should have done it and this might be a bug of some sort.
