I used WindowMaker starting back in 1997 for several years, and am only now getting back into using it again. Please tell me, is there a way to keep new windows from raising when you start them? This is driving me nuts, and one of the reasons I hate Gnome/KDE's default settings. If I start some whiz-bang Java IDE, or resource-hog mail app that takes forever to start, I will continue working in the shell, then the slow app finally comes up, and pops up while I am trying to type in the shell window. I am able to retain focus in the shell window, but I can't see, because my mail app is in the way. I have to stop typing and minimize my app. There used to be a way to keep new windows from raising in WindowMaker, is there still, or should I just move along and start using Fvwm instead?
