Hello, You saved my life, thank youuu !! I confirm: compiling a freshly downloaded version of emacs with Athena Widget on Mageia 3 distrib solves the issue: opening of windows with emacs do not erase the workspace kbd shortcut ! 8-)
I confirm as well that compiling emacs with gtk, gtk2 or gtk3 has the issue. I looked for other apps linked with the same libs as emacs with ldd which would have the same issue: this is weird, beause none of them has the issue. However, opening a .xls file with libreoffice 4.0.3.3 from the distrib causes the same probem: lost of the kbd shortcut. Notice that I wrote "opening a file" because if I just launch libreoffice, without opening a file, and THEN open the file, the shortcut still woks ! *sigh* go figure... Happy WindowMaking...
