I'm running firefox 1.5.0.1, which (if I can remember back to last week),
I just got it by apt-get from ubuntu. As for the gtk version:
$ ldd `which firefox`
not a dynamic executable
Sometimes, you just know the world is ruled by muppets.
Try
$ less /usr/bin/firefox
and
$ ldd /usr/lib/firefox/firefox-bin
In Debian-based distros /usr/bin/firefox is just a wrapper script.
