I think pressing Mod-key is much easier than trying to put cursor precisely on the 1-pixel wide border.
Yes, it is somewhat disturbing for many that you have to press Alt-Right_Mouse_Button to resize a window. (This btw sucks. I would love it if it was possible to resize by tearing the borders; especially with floating apps.)
