This is their big dilemma. There remains an Old-School GOP that is all about letting the business of America be buisiness, but which includes a sort of noblesse oblige traditionalism, but that GOP is based firmly in the northeast and is firmly at odds with the religion-infused, culture-war -obsessed Southern GOP or the radical-individualist Western States GOP. It might be possible to reconcile the first and third components of the party, but that would completely alienate the South, where they find their strongest base. And yet that strongest base is arguably the one that is viewed as the biggest fringe element by the rest of the nation. Frankly, I think they have to abandon the NASCAR crowd and embrace the Bill Weld wing of the party: Go Frugal, Go Tech, Go Green, Go Populist.

Just like what the general Republican demographics are at this point. Really, if Repubs want to be relavent in the future, they are going to have a tetonic shift in their membership.

In the Fall 08 Book for Fresno, 12 and older audience 89% of people listening to radio are NOT listening to him. In the Adults 25-54 demo about 95% of radio listeners are NOT listening to him.
If you look at radio listeners 65+, he has a 33% share. The closer you are to senility or dying of old age, the more likely you listen to Rush.
Rych
The idiot is obviously trying to draw in his base and gain some badly needed publicity. Has anyone checked his ratings lately?
Look at this excerpt from a transcription on his page
RUSH: Obama, now, this is key here, Galen. You know, you could say that Reagan was great because he made people feel better about themselves.
CALLER: That's true.
RUSH: You might say that Obama did the same thing. The problem, the difference is Reagan made them understand they are the ones who make the country work, that America's greatness is defined by them. Obama is telling people that it is government that is the only institution that can save them. That, sir, is sacrilegious to me. That's heresy as a capitalist, that's heresy as an American, that's not inspiring. I think Obama, quite frankly, is depressing people.
I think the years on the pills have addled Rush Blowhard. Obama is depressing people. OK dude. Sorry your heyday has long past and you are relevant only to the begrudging fringe of oddballs and angry. Obama has never uttered a word that government alone is going to save them. What an asshat.

Well, if you listen to Rush Lamebrain, he hopes that Obama will be a failure as a President.
There is no boundry to the asshole he is.
