The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department said that Strykert threatened over the phone from his home in Bozeman, Mont., to kill Hay in Dec. 2007. Strykert was ordered to appear in court in May but did not show up. Strykert denied making the threat. Hay told investigators he didn't believe Strykert would carry it out.
