Subject: 62-foot Jesus statue, struck by lightning, destroyed

A six-story-tall statue of Jesus Christ with his arms raised along a
highway was struck by lightning in a thunderstorm Monday night and
burned to the ground, police said.

I just put the Mnpls Star-Tribune link of this on my Facebook wall. But I was thinking, a couple of lightning rods could on the statue have better created a very dramatic picture more like the sculptors were trying to convey than that of a 6 story (wow!) building burning down.

At least it didn't collapse on any oncoming traffic, squishing them under the weight of the lord. Imagine the trauma, and the unfortunate stories if you survived it.
