In the DFW market, KTVT (CBS) and KDFW (FOX) both run local news starting at 4:30......WFAA (ABC) runs WNN from 3:10AM to 4:30AM, followed by ATM, and morning news at 5AM. KXAS runs Early Today at 4:30, followed by their local news at 5AM. Other markets, such as Houston have also started 4:30 local newscasts.
This looks to me like motivation for ABC affiliates to get into the trend.
