I don't know. I think I may just don't know how to use social media, at least not the kinds developed since 2001. Linkedin has let me get in touch with many people I used to know, although I haven't had much reason to make use of those connections past ``hey, great to hear you're alive and well''. Livejournal's gotten me well-trained in writing copy to deadline and to reasonable lengths reliably, but past amusing a small circle of friends has that lead to anything useful? Does it need to? I have a moribund Twitter feed that's mostly useful for keeping track of what my family's doing, and for the rest ...
Well, I'm glad for *this* community, and that it's here and I understand it. And I miss when Usenet was a vital thing.
