Anderson modeling new show after Donahue
Anderson Cooper -- who will try to move from globe-trotting news anchor to
girls-BFF daytime talk-show host this fall -- is building his new show to
look and feel like the old "Phil Donahue Show ," sources tell The Post.
Asked what the new, high-stakes Cooper show was like, a high-ranking show
executive replied simply: "Think 'Donahue.' "
It is a big gamble for Cooper, who will have to convince viewers they can
fall in love again with a daytime TV star who is not talking about diets
or dancing with his guests.
"I am not sure anyone wants to see a pasty, white-haired, middle-aged guy
dancing on TV," Cooper says.
