WPIX/Ch. 11 is preparing to launch a 5 p.m. newscast that it hopes will
benefit from a lead-in by Anderson Cooper's upcoming syndicated daytime
show. Ch. 11 has yet to name an anchor for the new report, although it's
expected to be Jodi Applegate, who now anchors the station's 10 p.m.
newscast.
